STYLE} Show [Us] Your… Clever Nail Art Displays If you've got the nail art talent, flaunt it. These displays get clients talking — and purchasing — nail designs. THE PARLOR, NORMAL, ILL. "I have a small home salon and am always on the lookout for things to give me an edge over large places with more availability, and my art and style have been that avenue for me. After seeing my clients love to hold my art wheels, I knew containing my art wasn't an option. I started to look for displays that could hold a large amount of art in a visible, interactive way but also be unique. I scoured the Internet and found someone who'd used a white foam mannequin head. I liked the idea but wanted a high-end, polished look so I looked for a beautiful and classy mannequin. I then created a grid and drilled holes which, once filled with nails, ended up looking like a tiara!" — Molly Fleming SOSS NAILS AT THE RAWK SHOP, SALT LAKE CITY "When my nail wheels start falling apart, I pluck them all off and frame them, then hang them on my walls, like shadowboxes. It makes them look like art, especially the nail wheels that follow a theme." — Soileti Hoko Learn how to make these shadowboxes at www.nailsmag.com/shadowbox. SHEAR IMAGE SALON, WEST POINT, CALIF. "I keep my nail decals and stickers in small photo books, and I thought it would be nice to be able to flip through my nail design samples too. I originally put them in the photo book, but they slid, so now they are held in place with staples. They are easy to take out to replace (which I do frequently with holidays, etc.) with new designs." — Nancy Koll 78 | NAILS MAGAZINE | MARCH 2013
