STYLE} nail art studio Red and Black Criss-Cross 1. Polish the nail red. 2. Use a black striper to draw a cross, separating the nail into four sections. 3. Fill in two opposite sections with black nail polish. 4. Add horizontal black lines to one of the remaining sections and diagonal black lines to the other. Desreen Jarvis, Nails By Desreen, Brooklyn, N.Y. Mood-Boosting Flower 1. Polish the nail lemon yellow. 2. Dip half of a flat brush in white acrylic paint and half the brush in royal blue acrylic paint. Use the double-loaded brush to create the outer circle of flower petals. 3. Use the same technique to add an inner circle of flower petals. 4. Add white dots and black swirls on either side of the flower. 5. Add gold beads and a pearl embellishment to the flower center. Fade Entity Beauty acrylic sculpting powder in Surrealist Surprise Sapphire, Pica-Blue, and Artist's Baby Blue onto the free edge. 3. Create a "gem" in the center of the nail by placing clear acrylic, then Martha Stewart red mylar pieces, then surround it with gold beads. 4. Use Entity One Color Couture in Spotlight and an art brush to add tiny swirls and dots.
