108 | NAILS MAGAZINE | APRIL 2014 BUSINESS } >>> A Truly Personalized Pedi "We want to anticipate our clients' needs and really cater to their likes and dislikes. No matter how many times they come in they can have a dif erent pedicure combination," says Shane Bird, director of spa operations for Skaná Spa in Turning Stone Resort Casino in Central New York. The Custom-Tailored Pedicure Experience at this award-winning spa allows clients to choose from eight soaks (such as red currant or ginger), eight scrubs (such as Mandarin honey or mango), and two masks (lavender or peppermint). "The ingredients are stored in a credenza in our pedicure area. It looks a little like an old-fashioned apothecary with all the glass jars," says Bird. "Clients will ask to smell this or that ingredient. At times, choosing the combination they want is overwhelming. The simplest part is picking their polish color." Every pedicure also includes a lower leg massage with warm towels and a paraf n application. The service runs 75 minutes and costs $80. n a 0 4 1 4 b u s N F . i n d d 1 0 8 na0414busNF.indd 108 2 / 2 1 / 1 4 3 : 1 7 P M 2/21/14 3:17 PM
