We're looking for the Next Top Nail Artist. COULD YOU BE NEXT? WHAT: NAILS wants you! After a successful first run, we're looking for the next batch of up-and-coming nail artists to compete online (ntna.nailsmag.com) for the title of NAILS Next Top Nail Artist. The reality show-inspired contest will pit 12 contestants against one another in a battle for the title. Weekly challenges will determine who moves on and who will be packing up their paintbrushes at the end of every week. The challenges will be a mix of video, photos, nail art on tips, and other social media-type entries. WHO: We're looking for professional nail techs who are inspired, creative, reliable, and up for a challenge. You must be able to take high-res digital photos and short videos. (Since we're looking for the NEXT top nail artist, you can't currently be affiliated with a professional nail manufacturer as an educator. It's fine if you've taken manufacturer-specific classes.) WHERE: Anywhere in the WORLD. All of your tasks will be uploaded online. WHEN: Complete the application with all required elements by April 25, 2014. We will contact semi- finalists by May 30. We'll announce the Top 12 contestants in the September issue. The public contest will take place between September and November 2014. The two finalists will fly to ISSE Long Beach and the winner will be announced at the show on January 24-26, 2015. HOW: Simply fill out the online application at www.nailsmag.com/ntna2014 no later than April 25, 2014. In addition to basic information, you'll be required to answer several essay questions and upload photos and a short video diary. PRIZES: The final two will be invited to ISSE Long Beach 2015, for the official crowning of NAILS' Next Top Nail Artist. (NAILS will pay up to $500 for your airfare and will pay for a two-night stay in Long Beach, Calif.)
