manicure/pedicure services 77 It's no secret that hands take the back burner when it comes to skincare. Your clients buy serums, masks and invest in expensive peels and treatments, but forget about the part of their body that is always exposed to the elements. "The hands are one of the most revealing signs of our age and one of the most neglected parts of our body," says Dr. Zena Gabriel. If your salon is just starting to expand its services into skincare, OPI's ProSpa line is way to ease yourself into implementing a full-scale skincare program. When choosing a skincare product line, it should boil down to one question. Are you buying quality products? When OPI Co-Founder and Brand Ambassador Suzi Weiss- Fischmann decided to introduce the nail care's first skincare line, she wanted to create a line that brought the same benefits of a facial treatment to hands. Weiss-Fischmann enlisted the help of dermatologist Dr. Gabriel. Gabriel has more than 10 years of experience in medical dermatology, Mohs Micrographic Surgery and aesthetic treatments. Dr. Gabriel focuses on four qualities that make up ideal skin: color, texture, volume, and elasticity. "Women have always paid so much attention to their skin on other parts of the body but hand care needs to be a part of that daily regimen," Dr. Gabriel says. "In the last decade, the beauty and dermatology community have 'kissed' and we see an intersection between them in the development of products that have potent, powerful molecules in their formulas, like those in OPI ProSpa. There is a scientific basis behind this line." Gabriel also emphasizes the importance of choosing the right ingredients, like cupuaƧu butter, white tea extracts and peptides. "Ingredients are basically medicine and when you put the right stuff in a bottle, it works!" "ProSpa does more than just smell good. These formulas take amazing facial skincare ingredients and technologies and use them to create products that bring the same benefits to your hands and feet," says Gabriel. Another active ingredient in the ProSpa line is White Tea. It has antioxidant and anti-aging properties to help maintain healthy skin. It can also help repair damaged skin. Although other teas have similar benefits, White Tea is two-times as effective as Green Tea. White Tea also helps prevent the breakdown of collagen and elastin.
