{on your mind } TECHS HELPING TECHS I was reading the digital version of NAILS (which I absolutely love!) when I came across the letter from Stacey Barnett about her school experience. I felt the same way coming out of school. However after of e fi ve years, I've fi gured most it out. Although I make sure to keep up with new techniques, new products, and new info because there is always something to learn! I just wanted to reach out and let her know it would be my pleasure to mentor her — either from near or afar! Danalynn Stockwood Via e-mail Editor's Note: We love getting messages like this Danalynn. Thank you for reaching out to Stacey. Seeing nail techs networking and sharing experiences is really encouraging. WHERE'S THE BIG BOOK? I have been subscribed to your magazine for a year now and I have never received the annual Big Book that is mentioned that subscribers get. Could you let me know when I will receive it? Christine Williamson Via e-mail Editor's Note: You should have received your 2012-2013 Big Book with this December issue. If you didn't receive a copy of the Big Book this month, please e-mail Tammy.Katata@bobit.com and she'll look into it for you. WE LOVE NAIL ART I have been doing nails for over 20 years and I owned my own day spa for 13 years. We love your Nail Art Gallery (nailartgallery. nailsmag.com). We get so many new fresh ideas there. I actually closed my day spa a few months ago and stopped getting the magazine. But I am still doing nails and I love to do freehand nail art. I need to subscribe again very soon. Tammilynn Hindley Via e-mail SURPRISE! NAIL ART I would like to share with you some work from my protégé — my cousin actually. Her name is Kim Resendes from Wheatley, Ontario, Canada. She has a salon called Hair Biz and she does incredible nail art on almost every one of her clients! 40 | NAILS MAGAZINE | DECEMBER 2012 She gets inspired by all the photo work submitted to your magazine from nail artists all over the world. She is also practicing for competition and is mostly a gel girl. We train together a little bit and I hope she decides to challenge herself with an upcoming competition in our area soon. Anyway, I would like to submit a photo of her work and look forward to having her be surprised with her nail art published in your magazine! Michelle Sproat Via Facebook.com/nailsmag Editor's Note: That's so nice of you to submit Kim's nail art photo. We're including a picture here and we encourage her to send in more art to be included in the magazine. She can e-mail photos to Sree.Roy@bobit.com.
