96 | NAILS MAGAZINE | APRIL 2014 Easter Basket 1. Paint the free edge of the nail with aqua green acrylic and the remainder of the nail with a sheer, sparkly pink acrylic. 2. Paint the eggs using a dif erent color for each with craft paint and a nail art brush. 3. Using dif erent colors, paint the eggs with dif erent designs. Add the base of the basket, slightly covering the bottom of the eggs so they appear to be inside of it. 4. Paint a handle for the basket, and using a lighter shade of brown, paint a simple basket weave. Finish with a UV top coat. One Stroke Spring Butterfl ies 1. Apply the base color. 2. Using hot pink and purple One Stroke acrylic paint, apply butterfl y wings using the One Stroke technique (dip one side of the brush in the hot pink and other side of the brush in the purple; "scrub" your double-loaded brush back and forth to blend the colors). 3. Using black acrylic paint, outline the wings, draw thin lines in the wings to add defi nition, and add the body and antennae. 4. Using white acrylic paint, add tiny dots to the outer edge of the wing. Let dry and apply clear top coat. Jade Sewell, Just Nails, Great Falls, Mont.
